Put images into a Word document

Need a scanned page, screenshot, photo or diagram inside a Word document, perhaps to submit through a form that only accepts .docx, to add a header and notes, or to print with consistent margins? JPG to Word creates a .docx file with your image placed on an A4 page and scaled to fit.

What you get

  • A standard .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer and Apple Pages.
  • The image scaled to fit within the page margins (it's never enlarged beyond its original size).
  • The original image quality, embedded without re-compression.

Important: this is not OCR

The converter embeds the image; it doesn't recognize text. If your image is a scanned letter, the document will contain a picture of the letter, not editable text.

Use cases

  • Document submissions that require .docx format.
  • Reports: start from a chart or diagram image and add text around it.
  • Printing photos with standard page margins.
  • Archiving screenshots in a document library.

Images are processed in an isolated temporary folder on our server and deleted immediately after the .docx is created.

Frequently asked questions

Will the text in my image become editable?

No. This tool places the image into a Word document; it doesn't perform OCR (text recognition). The text remains part of the picture.

How can I get editable text from an image?

Use OCR software. Google Drive, Microsoft OneNote and Word for Microsoft 365 (Insert → Pictures, then copy text) can extract text from images.

Can I put several images in one document?

Each image produces its own .docx. To combine them, use JPG to PDF to create one multi-page file, or merge the documents in Word.

Why does this use the server?

Building a .docx with correctly sized images is done on our server. Files are processed in a temporary folder and deleted immediately.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
