Frequently asked questions

Are the dice fair?

Yes. Every face has exactly the same probability, using your browser's secure random number generator with unbiased sampling.

What do d6, d20 and so on mean?

d plus a number is the number of sides: a d6 is a standard six-sided die, a d20 has twenty sides and is used in Dungeons & Dragons. 2d6 means rolling two six-sided dice and adding them.

What is the most common total with two dice?

Seven. There are six ways to make 7 with two six-sided dice out of 36 combinations, a 1 in 6 chance. Totals of 2 and 12 are the rarest at 1 in 36.

Can I roll a d100 (percentile die)?

Yes. Choose d100 to get a number from 1 to 100, often used for percentile checks in tabletop games.

Are the random results fair?

Yes. The wheel, random number generator, coin flip and dice use your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with unbiased sampling, so every outcome is equally likely.

Do these tools work offline or on my phone?

They run entirely in your browser and work on phones, tablets and computers. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection.

Is anything I type saved on your servers?

No. The notepad saves notes only in your own browser's local storage, and nothing else you enter is stored.
