Tips for fair draws

  1. One line per entry. Blank lines are ignored.
  2. Remove duplicates unless you want someone to have extra chances.
  3. Record the result with a screenshot for public giveaways.
  4. Use "remove winners" to draw 1st, 2nd and 3rd place without repeats.

How the probability works

With 8 entries, each has a 1 in 8 (12.5%) chance per spin. Results are independent: the same name can come up twice in a row, just as a die can roll two sixes.

Need numbers instead of names? Use the Random Number Generator. For quick yes/no decisions, flip a coin, or roll some dice.

How to use the Spin the Wheel

  1. Open the tool. It's ready to use immediately, with nothing to install.
  2. Enter your entries, numbers or settings, or keep the defaults.
  3. Press the main button (spin, roll, start or generate) and watch the result.
  4. Repeat as often as you like; results are generated fresh each time in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and every entry has the same probability. The animation simply lands on the chosen slice.

Can I give someone a better chance?

Add their name more than once. Each line is its own slice, so a name entered twice is twice as likely to be picked.

How do I pick several winners without repeats?

Tick 'Offer to remove winners'. After each spin you can remove the winner from the wheel, then spin again.

Are my names saved or shared?

No. Everything happens in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Are the random results fair?

Yes. The wheel, random number generator, coin flip and dice use your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with unbiased sampling, so every outcome is equally likely.

Do these tools work offline or on my phone?

They run entirely in your browser and work on phones, tablets and computers. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection.

Is anything I type saved on your servers?

No. The notepad saves notes only in your own browser's local storage, and nothing else you enter is stored.
