Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my percentage from marks?

Divide the marks you got by the total marks and multiply by 100. For example, 923 out of 1100 is 923 ÷ 1100 × 100 = 83.91%.

What grade is 80% in matric?

On the traditional grading scale used by Pakistani boards, 80% and above is A1 (exceptional), 70–79% is A, 60–69% is B, 50–59% is C, 40–49% is D and 33–39% is E. Below 33% is a fail.

What is first division?

First division means 60% or more, second division 45–59% and third division 33–44%. Many admission and job adverts still ask for at least second division.

What are the total marks for matric and FSc?

It depends on the board and the year, commonly 1100 or 1200. Enter the total printed on your result card, or use the subject-by-subject mode.

Are these student tools free?

Yes, every tool is free with no sign-up or app to install, and they work on phones as well as computers.

Is my data saved?

Your courses, marks, timer settings and reference list are saved only in your own browser, so you can come back and update them. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Which grading systems are supported?

The GPA calculator supports the US 4.0 and 4.3 scales, the Pakistani HEC-style 4.0 scale and the Indian 10-point scale. The CGPA to percentage converter includes the CBSE and VTU formulas and the common 10-point and 4.0-scale conversions.

Will my university use exactly the same formula?

Not always. Grading and conversion rules differ between universities and boards, so check your student handbook for official results.
