How to convert

  1. Transfer your HEIC photos to your computer (AirDrop, iCloud Photos, USB or email).
  2. Drop them into the upload area above, many at once if you like.
  3. Choose JPG (or PNG) and the quality. 90% is visually lossless.
  4. Click Convert and download each photo, or all of them as a ZIP.

Tips

  • Multi-image HEIC files (bursts or some edited photos) produce one JPG per image.
  • Large batches can take a moment, because decoding HEIC is computationally heavy; keep the tab open until it finishes.
  • Sharing from iPhone? iOS often converts HEIC to JPG automatically when you share or attach photos, so check the file type before converting.
  • AirDrop to a Mac keeps HEIC; export from Photos with File → Export → Kind: JPEG if you prefer.

Make the JPGs even smaller with the Image Compressor, or put several photos into one document with JPG to PDF. Need to go the other way? Use JPG to HEIC.

How to use the HEIC to JPG

  4. Download each result individually, or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It stores HEIF images compressed with HEVC (H.265), giving roughly half the file size of JPG at similar quality.

Why can't I open HEIC on Windows or Android?

HEVC is patent-licensed, so many devices don't include a decoder by default. Windows needs paid extensions from the Microsoft Store, and many websites and apps can't read HEIC at all.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The HEIC decoder runs in your browser, so your personal photos stay on your device.

How do I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?

Go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be saved as JPG, at roughly double the storage.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
