About Solitaire

The classic patience card game. Build the four foundations from ace to king, in draw-1 or draw-3 mode. Tap a card to move it automatically or drag it, undo any move, and let auto-complete finish a won game.

Key features

  • Classic Klondike solitaire
  • Draw 1 or draw 3
  • Tap to auto-move, or drag and drop
  • Unlimited undo
  • Auto-complete for won games
  • Timer, move counter and best time

How to play

  1. Build columns downwards in alternating colours: a black 7 goes on a red 8.
  2. Move runs together. A face-up run can move as a group, and uncovering a face-down card turns it over.
  3. Use the stock. Click the stock to turn cards, and click the empty space to turn the waste back over.
  4. Build the foundations by suit, from ace up to king.

Tips

  • Turn over face-down cards first: they hold the cards you need.
  • Don't empty a column unless you have a king ready to move there.
  • Don't rush low cards to the foundations if you may still need them to hold a run.

Memory game, Sudoku, and sliding puzzle.

Frequently asked questions

How do I win solitaire?

Move all 52 cards to the four foundations at the top, each built by suit from ace to king.

What's the difference between draw 1 and draw 3?

Draw 1 turns one card at a time from the stock, which is easier. Draw 3 turns three, and you can only play the top one, so many cards stay out of reach until the next pass.

Can every game be won?

No. Some deals can't be won however you play. Undo lets you try different choices, and a new deal is one click away.

What can go on an empty column?

Only a king, or a run of cards that starts with a king.

Are the games free?

Yes, all games are completely free, with no sign-up, download or in-game purchases.

Can I play against other people online?

Yes. Sign in with Google on the Play Online page to play chess, checkers, Ludo and tic-tac-toe with a friend or a waiting opponent. All games can also be played without an account.

Do the games work on phones?

Yes. Every game works with touch as well as a mouse and keyboard, and the boards resize to fit your screen.

Where are my best scores saved?

In your browser on this device. They're never sent to our servers, and clearing your browser data resets them.

What are the daily puzzles?

Sudoku and Word Scramble have a puzzle of the day that is the same for everyone and changes at midnight in your time zone, so you can compare results with friends.
