Design tips

  1. Simplify: a letter, monogram or symbol reads better than a full logo.
  2. High contrast: icons sit on light and dark browser themes.
  3. Use the space: avoid thin borders and large empty margins at small sizes.
  4. Rounded corners or a background help transparent logos stand out on home screens.

Google search favicons

Google shows your favicon next to search results. It should be a multiple of 48 px square and live on the same domain, and the homepage must link to it. This package covers those requirements.

Get your logo ready with Crop Image and the Image Resizer, or check your site's tags with the Meta Tag Checker.

Frequently asked questions

What size should my favicon image be?

Start with a square image of at least 512 × 512 px. Simple, bold shapes work best because the icon is shown as small as 16 × 16 px in browser tabs.

Where do I put the favicon files?

Upload them to the root of your website (next to your homepage), then paste the HTML from favicon-html.txt into the <head> of your pages. Browsers may take a while to refresh cached favicons.

Do I still need favicon.ico?

Yes, it's the safest fallback: browsers, RSS readers and other tools request /favicon.ico automatically. The PNG and touch icons add sharper versions for modern devices.

Why does my icon look blurry?

Fine details disappear at 16 px. Use a simplified version of your logo, such as a single letter or symbol, with strong contrast.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
