Tips for a high score

  1. Stay near the edges when the snake is long, and keep the open space in front of you.
  2. Move in loops. Sweeping back and forth in rows leaves room to turn.
  3. Don't chase every golden apple. Five points aren't worth a risky turn.
  4. Plan your escape before you eat, because the body grows behind you.

How do I control the snake?

Use the arrow keys or WASD on a computer, and swipe or use the buttons on a phone. Press Space to pause.

What ends the game?

Running into your own body. With solid walls, hitting a wall ends it too. With pass-through walls, you come out on the opposite side.

What are golden apples?

Every fifth apple brings a golden one worth 5 points. It blinks and then disappears, so go for it quickly.

Why does it get faster?

The snake speeds up a little with every apple, so long games get harder.

Are the games free?

Can I play against other people online?
