How to play Ludo
Each player has four tokens in a coloured yard. Take turns rolling the dice, and move your tokens clockwise around the board, then up your coloured home column to the centre. The first player to bring all four tokens home wins.
Rules used here
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Roll a 6 | Bring out a token or move, then roll again |
| Land on a rival | Their token goes back to the yard, and you roll again |
| Get a token home | Roll again |
| Three 6s in a row | Your turn ends |
| On a start square or star | Your token is safe |
Ludo has many house rules, so yours may differ slightly at home.
Tips to win
- Spread your tokens out instead of racing just one.
- Stay more than 6 squares ahead of rivals when you can, because they can't reach you with one roll.
- Use safe squares when a rival is close behind.
