Freelancers: setting an hourly rate
If you're moving from a salaried job to freelancing, your hourly rate needs to cover unpaid time (sales, admin, holidays, sick days) and costs your employer used to pay. A common rule of thumb is to charge 1.5 to 2 times the equivalent salaried hourly rate.
