The Pomodoro technique

  1. Pick one task.
  2. Work for 25 minutes without distractions.
  3. Take a 5-minute break.
  4. After four rounds, take a 15–30 minute break.

Short, timed sessions make large tasks feel manageable and help you notice how long things really take.

Tips

  • Keep the tab open. Closing the tab stops the timer.
  • Watch the tab title. It shows the remaining time, so you can work in another tab.
  • Use full screen (F11 on most computers) for classrooms and gyms.

Measure elapsed time with the Stopwatch, count down to a specific date with the Countdown Timer, or keep notes with the Online Notepad.

How to use the Online Timer

  1. Open the tool. It's ready to use immediately, with nothing to install.
  2. Enter your entries, numbers or settings, or keep the defaults.
  3. Press the main button (spin, roll, start or generate) and watch the result.
  4. Repeat as often as you like; results are generated fresh each time in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Will the alarm ring if I switch to another tab?

Yes. The timer keeps counting in the background and plays the alarm when it ends. The remaining time also shows in the tab title. Keep your device's volume up, and note that some phones pause web pages when the screen is locked.

Why don't I hear the alarm?

Browsers only allow sound after you've interacted with the page, which is why the sound is enabled when you press Start. Check that 'Alarm sound' is ticked and the tab isn't muted.

Is it accurate?

Yes. The end time is fixed when you press Start and the remaining time is calculated from the clock, so it doesn't drift even if the browser slows down updates.

What is a good timer for the Pomodoro technique?

Use the 25-minute preset for focused work, then 5 minutes for a short break. After four rounds, take a longer 15–30 minute break.

Are the random results fair?

Yes. The wheel, random number generator, coin flip and dice use your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with unbiased sampling, so every outcome is equally likely.

Do these tools work offline or on my phone?

They run entirely in your browser and work on phones, tablets and computers. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection.

Is anything I type saved on your servers?

No. The notepad saves notes only in your own browser's local storage, and nothing else you enter is stored.
