Study in focused bursts

Long, unbroken study sessions often turn into scrolling. The Pomodoro method keeps you on one task for a short, fixed time, then gives you a guilt-free break. It's simple, and it works well for revision, assignments and coding.

How to use it well

  1. Pick one task, such as "Chapter 4 practice questions".
  2. Silence your phone and close unrelated tabs.
  3. Start the timer and work until the chime.
  4. Take the break, even if you're in the flow.
  5. Write down distractions instead of acting on them, and deal with them in a break.

Final grade calculator, online timer and online notepad.

  2. Work on one task until the chime, then take the short break.
  3. After four focus sessions, take a long break.
  4. Adjust the lengths in Settings; your daily count is saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

A time-management method created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s: work on one task for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, and after four rounds take a longer 15–30 minute break.

Why 25 minutes?

It's long enough to make real progress but short enough to stay focused, and the regular breaks reduce fatigue. Many people later stretch focus sessions to 45 or 50 minutes; you can change the length in Settings.

Does the timer keep running in another tab?

Yes. It's based on the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate in the background, and you'll get a notification when time is up if you allow it.

What should I do during breaks?

Step away from the screen: stretch, drink water or walk around. Avoid starting a new video or game that's hard to stop after five minutes.

Are these student tools free?

Yes, every tool is free with no sign-up or app to install, and they work on phones as well as computers.

Is my data saved?

Your courses, marks, timer settings and reference list are saved only in your own browser, so you can come back and update them. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Which grading systems are supported?

The GPA calculator supports the US 4.0 and 4.3 scales, the Pakistani HEC-style 4.0 scale and the Indian 10-point scale. The CGPA to percentage converter includes the CBSE and VTU formulas and the common 10-point and 4.0-scale conversions.

Will my university use exactly the same formula?

Not always. Grading and conversion rules differ between universities and boards, so check your student handbook for official results.
