Frequently asked questions

What is 180°C in Fahrenheit?

356°F, usually rounded to 350°F in recipes. It's gas mark 4, and about 160°C in a fan oven.

How do I convert for a fan oven?

Reduce the temperature by about 20°C (or 25–30°F) compared with a conventional oven, or follow the oven maker's guidance. Fan ovens circulate hot air, so food cooks faster.

How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?

Multiply by 9, divide by 5 and add 32. For example, 200°C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32 = 392°F.

What is a moderate oven?

Around 180°C, 350°F or gas mark 4. A hot oven is about 220°C, 425°F or gas mark 7.

Why do land units like marla and bigha have different sizes?

They're traditional units that were standardized differently in different places. A marla is 272.25 sq ft in revenue records but 225 sq ft in many Lahore housing societies, and a bigha varies widely between Indian states. The converters let you choose the size used in your area.

Are size charts the same for every brand?

No. The charts use common international equivalents, but brands can differ by up to half a shoe size or one clothing size. Check the brand's own chart when you can.

Do these converters work offline?

Yes. Once a page has loaded, every converter works in your browser without a connection.
