Ideas

  • Brand matching: get the exact color from a client's logo.
  • Design inspiration: turn a favorite photo into a palette.
  • Home and fashion: find matching colors for paint, fabric or outfits.
  • Data visualization: pick chart colors that match a report's imagery.

Tips for accurate picks

  1. Use the original, uncompressed image where possible; heavy JPG compression shifts colors.
  2. Zoom: larger images give more precise picks.
  3. For logos, pick from the center of a shape, not anti-aliased edges.

Convert and pair colors with the Color Picker, crop to the area you care about, or edit colors.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the HEX code of a color in an image?

Upload the image, then click the spot you want. The HEX, RGB and HSL values appear on the right, ready to copy.

How is the dominant palette calculated?

Pixels are grouped into similar colors and the largest groups are shown, with the share of the image each one covers. Very similar shades are merged so the palette stays useful.

Why is the picked color slightly different from what I expected?

Photos contain noise and gradients, so neighboring pixels differ. Click a few nearby points, or use the dominant palette for a representative color.

Can I pick colors from a website?

Take a screenshot and upload it. In Chrome and Edge you can also use the eyedropper in our Color Picker tool to pick directly from your screen.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
