Frequently asked questions

Can blurred faces or text be recovered?

Strong blur or large pixel blocks remove the detail permanently from the downloaded file. Weak blurs on large text can sometimes still be read, so use a high strength for sensitive information, or pixelate.

Blur or pixelate: which is better for privacy?

Both work when strong enough. Pixelation with large blocks is the most reliable for text such as names, numbers and license plates.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The blurring happens in your browser, which matters for photos containing private information.

How do I remove a selection?

Click Undo to remove the last area, or Clear to start over.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
