Tips

  1. Use your website or handle so people can find you: © yourname.com.
  2. Keep it subtle on portfolio pieces; a huge watermark distracts from the work.
  3. Watermark copies, not originals: keep clean masters for clients and printing.

Watermark PDFs, resize photos for the web, or remove EXIF data before posting.

Frequently asked questions

Does a watermark stop people copying my photos?

It discourages casual copying and keeps your name attached to the image. A corner watermark can be cropped out, so use the tiled layout for proofs and previews you really want to protect.

How big should a watermark be?

About 3–6% of the image width for a subtle corner signature. For proofs, use the tiled layout with lower opacity.

Why is the size in percent?

So the watermark looks the same on every photo in a batch, whether a photo is 1,000 or 6,000 pixels wide.

Does it keep my original photos?

Yes. New files are created with '-watermarked' in the name; your originals aren't changed.

Are my images uploaded?

Most image tools run in your browser. Only Word→JPG, JPG→Word and JPG→HEIC send the file to our server, where it is processed and deleted right away.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop multiple files and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Will converting reduce quality?

Lossless formats like PNG keep full quality. For JPG and WebP you can pick the quality level yourself.
