Frequently asked questions

How many seconds are in a day?

86,400 (24 × 60 × 60). A week has 604,800 seconds.

How do I convert decimal hours to hours and minutes?

Multiply the decimal part by 60. 7.75 hours = 7 hours + 0.75 × 60 = 7 hours 45 minutes.

Why is a year 365.25 days?

Every fourth year is a leap year with 366 days, so the average Julian year is 365.25 days. That's the standard used in astronomy and for averages such as 'per year'.

How many hours are in a year?

8,766 hours on average (365.25 × 24), or 8,760 in a common 365-day year.

Are these calculators accurate?

They use standard, published formulas (for example the amortization formula for loans, Mifflin-St Jeor for calories and the U.S. Navy method for body fat) and are tested against known reference values. Results are estimates for planning, not professional advice.

Is my data stored?

No. All calculations run in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Do the calculators work on my phone?

Yes. Every calculator is designed for mobile, tablet and desktop.
