How many joules are in a kWh?

3,600,000 J (3.6 MJ), because 1 W = 1 J/s and an hour has 3,600 seconds.

What is a BTU?

A British Thermal Unit, about 1,055 J, which is the energy to heat one pound of water by 1 °F. It's used for heating and air conditioning capacity.

Are these calculators accurate?
