About the Discount Calculator

Find the final price after a discount and how much you save. Add a second stacked discount (like an extra 10% off sale items) and sales tax for the real checkout price.

Key features

  • Final price and amount saved
  • Stacked discounts (e.g. 30% + extra 10% off)
  • Optional sales tax after the discount
  • Effective total discount percentage
  • Multiple currencies
  • Results update as you type

Know exactly what you'll pay

Sales, coupons and "extra % off" promotions make it hard to tell what the final price will be. Enter the original price and the discount to see what you pay and what you save, including stacked discounts and sales tax.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate a discount?

Multiply the price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the savings, then subtract. 25% off 80 = 80 × 0.25 = 20 off, so you pay 60.

Is 30% + 10% off the same as 40% off?

No. The extra 10% applies to the already-reduced price: 100 → 70 → 63, so the total discount is 37%, not 40%.

Is tax charged before or after the discount?

In most places sales tax is charged on the discounted price, which is how this calculator works. Check local rules for coupons and rebates.

How do I find the original price from a sale price?

Divide the sale price by (1 − discount). If something costs 45 after 25% off, the original was 45 ÷ 0.75 = 60.

Are these calculators accurate?

They use standard, published formulas (for example the amortization formula for loans, Mifflin-St Jeor for calories and the U.S. Navy method for body fat) and are tested against known reference values. Results are estimates for planning, not professional advice.

Is my data stored?

No. All calculations run in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Do the calculators work on my phone?

Yes. Every calculator is designed for mobile, tablet and desktop.
