Frequently asked questions

How do I convert binary to decimal?

Multiply each digit by 2 raised to its position (from 0 on the right) and add them up. 1011 = 8 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 11. Or type it into the Binary field here.

How do I convert decimal to hexadecimal?

Divide by 16 repeatedly and write the remainders backwards, using A–F for 10–15. 255 ÷ 16 = 15 remainder 15, so 255 = FF.

Are very large numbers supported?

Yes. The converter uses arbitrary-precision integers (BigInt), so even 100-digit numbers are converted exactly.

Does it convert fractions or negative numbers?

Negative whole numbers are supported with a minus sign. Fractions (like 0.5) aren't supported.

Is my code uploaded anywhere?

No. Every developer tool runs entirely in your browser, so source code, configuration files and passwords never leave your device.

Which formatter do you use?

HTML, CSS and JavaScript are formatted with Prettier, the most widely used code formatter, so the output matches what most projects use. SQL uses sql-formatter, and minification uses Terser and CSSO.

Is there a size limit?

There's no fixed limit. Very large files (several megabytes) can take a few seconds, depending on your device.
