  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser, nothing uploaded

About the URL Parser

See every part of a URL: protocol, host, port, path, decoded query parameters and fragment. Tracking parameters such as utm_source and fbclid are flagged and can be removed.

Key features

  • Protocol, host, port, path, query and fragment
  • Decoded query parameters in a table
  • Path broken into segments
  • Flags tracking parameters (utm_, fbclid, gclid…)
  • Clean URL without tracking parameters
  • Works without https:// too

See every part of a URL

Paste a long link to break it into its parts, read decoded query parameters and spot tracking codes. Useful for debugging redirects, checking campaign links and cleaning up URLs before sharing.

Frequently asked questions

What are the parts of a URL?

Scheme (https:), host (www.example.com), optional port (:8080), path (/products/shoes), query string (?color=red&size=42) and fragment (#reviews).

What are UTM parameters?

Tags such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign that marketing tools add to links to track where visitors came from. They don't change the page itself, so removing them gives a cleaner link to share.

Why does my URL show %20 or %C3%A9?

That's percent-encoding: characters that aren't allowed in URLs are written as % followed by hex bytes. %20 is a space and %C3%A9 is é. The parser shows the decoded values.

What is the fragment (#) used for?

It points to a section of the page and is handled by the browser; it's never sent to the server.

Is my code uploaded anywhere?

No. Every developer tool runs entirely in your browser, so source code, configuration files and passwords never leave your device.

Which formatter do you use?

HTML, CSS and JavaScript are formatted with Prettier, the most widely used code formatter, so the output matches what most projects use. SQL uses sql-formatter, and minification uses Terser and CSSO.

Is there a size limit?

There's no fixed limit. Very large files (several megabytes) can take a few seconds, depending on your device.
