Turn JSON data into readable HTML tables

JSON is great for machines, but managers, clients and non-technical colleagues want tables. This converter turns JSON into clean HTML tables that open in any browser, paste into emails, or drop into a web page or CMS.

How data is mapped

JSON shapeHTML output
Array of objects<table> with a header row of keys and one row per object
Single objectTwo-column key/value table
Array of strings/numbers<ul> bullet list
Nested object in a cellNested key/value table
nullEmpty cell

Example

[
{ "name": "Laptop", "price": 1299, "inStock": true },
  { "name": "Mouse", "price": 25, "inStock": false }
]

produces:

namepriceinStock
Laptop1299true
Mouse25false

Use cases

  • Sharing API data with people who don't read JSON.
  • Reports and dashboards. Quick static tables from exported data.
  • Email. Paste a table into an email body instead of attaching a file.
  • Documentation. Show sample data in readable form.
  • CMS content. Add data tables to WordPress, Ghost or Webflow via an HTML block.

Tips

  • Flatten first for wide data. Deeply nested data produces tables within tables. For spreadsheet-style output, use JSON to CSV or JSON to Excel, which flatten nested fields into columns.
  • Remove empty fields. The JSON Cleaner reduces empty columns.
  • Preview before copying. Toggle Preview to see the rendered table, then switch back to Code to copy the HTML.

To show JSON as colorful code rather than a table, use the JSON Syntax Highlighter.

How to use the JSON to HTML

  1. Paste your data into the input box, upload a file, or click Sample to try it out.
  2. Adjust the options above the editor if you need to (indentation, delimiter, and so on).
  3. The HTML appears instantly in the output panel. Any errors are shown with their line and column.
  4. Click Copy to copy the result, or Download to save it as a file.

Frequently asked questions

What JSON shapes produce the best tables?

An array of objects with the same keys, like a list of users or products. Each object becomes a row and each key a column. Objects with different keys still work; missing cells are left empty.

How are nested values shown?

Nested objects become small key/value tables inside the cell, and arrays of plain values become bullet lists, so no data is lost.

Can I style the table?

Yes. The output includes a small <style> block you can edit, or you can remove it and apply your own CSS classes.

Is it safe to embed the generated HTML?

Yes. All keys and values are HTML-escaped, so data containing < or & can't break the page or inject scripts.

Is my JSON uploaded to a server?

No. All JSON tools run entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.

Is there a size limit?

There is no fixed limit. Files of several megabytes work fine; very large files depend on your device's memory.

Do I need an account?

No. Every JSON tool is free and works without signing up.
