Frequently asked questions

How much water should I drink a day?

A common rule of thumb is about 30–35 ml per kg of body weight, plus more for exercise and heat. The US National Academies suggest total fluid intakes of about 3.7 L for men and 2.7 L for women, including water from food.

Do other drinks and food count?

Yes. Tea, coffee, milk and water-rich foods like fruit and soup all contribute. Food typically provides about 20% of total water intake.

How can I tell if I'm drinking enough?

Pale yellow urine and rarely feeling thirsty are good signs. Dark urine, headaches and fatigue can indicate you need more.

Can I drink too much water?

Yes. Drinking very large amounts in a short time can cause dangerously low sodium (hyponatremia). Spread intake through the day.

Are these calculators accurate?

They use standard, published formulas (for example the amortization formula for loans, Mifflin-St Jeor for calories and the U.S. Navy method for body fat) and are tested against known reference values. Results are estimates for planning, not professional advice.

Is my data stored?

No. All calculations run in your browser and nothing you enter is sent to a server.

Do the calculators work on my phone?

Yes. Every calculator is designed for mobile, tablet and desktop.
