JSON Generator – Random Test Data

Generate random JSON test data: users, products, orders and more. Choose the number of records and download.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser, nothing uploaded

About the JSON Generator

Create realistic sample JSON for testing and prototyping. Pick a template such as users, products or orders, choose how many records you need, and copy or download.

Key features

  • Templates for users, products, orders and blog posts
  • Generate 1 to 5,000 records at once
  • Realistic names, emails, prices, statuses and ISO dates
  • Unique UUIDs for each record where relevant
  • Copy or download as a .json file
  • No sign-up; generated in your browser

Generate realistic test JSON in seconds

Front-end prototypes, API mocks, database seeds, load tests and tutorials all need sample data. Typing it by hand is tedious and copying production data is risky. The JSON Generator creates realistic, randomized records from ready-made templates.

Use cases

  • UI development: fill tables, lists and dashboards before the API exists.
  • Pagination and virtual scrolling: test with hundreds or thousands of rows.
  • Mock APIs: serve the file with json-server, MSW or a static host.
  • Database seeding: import into MongoDB (mongoimport --jsonArray) or convert to CSV for SQL.
  • Demos and documentation: screenshots without real customer data.

Safe by design

All emails use example.com, a domain reserved for documentation (RFC 2606), so test emails can never reach a real person.

Edit the output in the JSON Editor, convert it with JSON to CSV or JSON to Excel, or generate Java models with JSON to Java.

How to use the JSON Generator

  1. Paste your data into the input box, upload a file, or click Sample to try it out.
  2. Adjust the options above the editor if you need to (indentation, delimiter, and so on).
  3. The result appears instantly in the output panel. Any errors are shown with their line and column.
  4. Click Copy to copy the result, or Download to save it as a file.

Frequently asked questions

Is the generated data real?

No. Names are combined from a list of famous computer scientists and all email addresses use the reserved example.com domain, so the data is safe for testing and screenshots.

Can I generate my own schema?

The generator offers ready-made templates. To customize, generate a template close to what you need and edit it in the JSON Editor.

Why does each click give different data?

Values are randomized on every generation, which helps catch bugs that only appear with certain inputs.

What's the maximum number of records?

5,000 per generation, which produces files up to around 1–2 MB, enough for most UI, pagination and performance tests.

Is my JSON uploaded to a server?

No. All JSON tools run entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.

Is there a size limit?

There is no fixed limit. Files of several megabytes work fine; very large files depend on your device's memory.

Do I need an account?

No. Every JSON tool is free and works without signing up.
