How to convert nanometers to microns
1 nanometer is equal to 0.001 microns, and 1 micron is equal to 1,000 nanometers. To convert, multiply by the conversion factor:
microns = nanometers × 0.001
microns = nanometers ÷ 1,000Example: convert 15 nm to µ: 15 × 0.001 = 0.015 µ.

About the nanometer
A nanometer is one billionth of a meter. It's used for wavelengths of light (visible light is about 380–750 nm), molecules and chip manufacturing processes.
Symbol: nm · 1 nm = 1 × 10⁻⁹ m · Category: Metric (SI)
About the micron
The micron is the older name for the micrometer (one millionth of a meter). It's still common in filtration, semiconductor manufacturing and particle sizes.
Symbol: µ · 1 µ = 0.000001 m · Category: Metric (SI)
