How to convert microns to nanometers
1 micron is equal to 1,000 nanometers, and 1 nanometer is equal to 0.001 microns. To convert, multiply by the conversion factor:
nanometers = microns × 1,000
nanometers = microns ÷ 0.001Example: convert 15 µ to nm: 15 × 1,000 = 15,000 nm.

About the micron
The micron is the older name for the micrometer (one millionth of a meter). It's still common in filtration, semiconductor manufacturing and particle sizes.
Symbol: µ · 1 µ = 0.000001 m · Category: Metric (SI)
About the nanometer
A nanometer is one billionth of a meter. It's used for wavelengths of light (visible light is about 380–750 nm), molecules and chip manufacturing processes.
Symbol: nm · 1 nm = 1 × 10⁻⁹ m · Category: Metric (SI)
