How to convert microinches to mils
1 microinch is equal to 0.001 mils, and 1 mil is equal to 1,000 microinches. To convert, multiply by the conversion factor:
mils = microinches × 0.001
mils = microinches ÷ 1,000Example: convert 15 µin to mil: 15 × 0.001 = 0.015 mil.

About the microinch
A microinch is one millionth of an inch (25.4 nm). It's used to specify surface roughness in machining.
Symbol: µin · 1 µin = 2.54 × 10⁻⁸ m · Category: Imperial & US customary
About the mil
The mil (or thou) is one thousandth of an inch (25.4 µm). It's used for wire diameters, plastic sheet thickness and circuit board tracks.
Symbol: mil · 1 mil = 0.0000254 m · Category: Imperial & US customary
