Frequently asked questions

What's the best way to learn times tables?

Start with the easy ones (2, 5 and 10), then 3, 4 and 9, and leave 6, 7 and 8 for last. Practise a little every day and say them out loud; a few minutes of quizzing beats an hour of reading.

Are there tricks for the 9 times table?

Yes. For 9 × n up to 10, the tens digit is n − 1 and the two digits add up to 9. So 9 × 7 = 63, because 7 − 1 = 6 and 6 + 3 = 9.

How do I print the tables?

Choose the range, select Tables or Chart, and click Print. The page prints just the tables, without the menus.

Up to which table should children learn?

Most school curricula expect children to know their tables up to 10 × 10 or 12 × 12 by about age 9 to 11. Larger tables are useful for mental maths competitions.

Are these student tools free?

Yes, every tool is free with no sign-up or app to install, and they work on phones as well as computers.

Is my data saved?

Your courses, marks, timer settings and reference list are saved only in your own browser, so you can come back and update them. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Which grading systems are supported?

The GPA calculator supports the US 4.0 and 4.3 scales, the Pakistani HEC-style 4.0 scale and the Indian 10-point scale. The CGPA to percentage converter includes the CBSE and VTU formulas and the common 10-point and 4.0-scale conversions.

Will my university use exactly the same formula?

Not always. Grading and conversion rules differ between universities and boards, so check your student handbook for official results.
