Frequently asked questions

When do I ovulate?

Usually about 14 days before your next period, not necessarily on day 14. In a 28-day cycle that's around day 14; in a 32-day cycle, around day 18.

What is the fertile window?

The six days ending on ovulation day: the five days before ovulation and the day itself, plus the day after in this calculator. Sperm can survive up to five days, while an egg lives about 12–24 hours.

Can I use this to avoid pregnancy?

No. Cycles vary, and ovulation can come earlier or later than predicted. Calendar estimates aren't reliable contraception; talk to a doctor about birth control.

When should I take a pregnancy test?

From the day your period is due. Testing earlier can give a false negative because hormone levels may still be too low to detect.

Are these calculators medical advice?

No. They give general estimates based on established formulas. Talk to a doctor, registered dietitian or qualified coach about your own health, diet or training.

Is my health information stored?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to a server or saved.

Can I use pounds and feet?

Yes. The calculators that need height or weight let you switch between metric (cm, kg) and imperial (ft, in, lb) units.
